All of our institutional procedures, from classroom conduct and dress code to academic integrity, safety, and parent communication.

In-Class and Student Conduct Procedures

In-Class Conduct Procedures

How many points a student regains from their teacher depends on the nature of the behavior that lowered their score and the quality of the project completed to earn it back. Ways to regain points:

  • Placing in competitions inside or outside school
  • Volunteering for and contributing to Social Services and Eco-School activities
  • Translating into a foreign language, performing strongly in drama and similar activities; making active use of the library and having a reading habit
  • Taking on roles in school events (welcoming guests, handing out brochures, guiding, photography, bake sales, etc.)
  • Helping to organize workshops, laboratories, or classrooms
  • Setting an example in etiquette and relationships (being helpful, cooperative, courteous, polite, etc.)

In-Class Conduct Rules

  • Students follow classroom rules.
  • Students and teachers come to class prepared.
  • Students know that a subject is learned most easily in class.
  • Students know that their teachers will be glad to see them participate in class.
  • Students keep their course materials with them.
  • When the bell rings, students wait for their teacher in the classroom.
  • Students take care not to come to class tired and sweaty.
  • Students know that all classroom equipment is entrusted first to the homeroom teacher and then to them.
  • Students listen to the lesson without disrupting the order and flow of the class; they speak when given the floor and do not leave their seats without permission.
  • Students do not ask to leave the classroom during a lesson unless necessary.
  • Students keep their surroundings clean.
  • Students do not keep food or drinks in classrooms.
  • Students keep their personal lockers in the classroom tidy and clean.
  • Students hand in all personal electronic devices they will use to support learning at school (laptop, tablet, mobile phone, etc.) to the homeroom teacher during homeroom.

Attendance and Absence Procedures

  • Regular school attendance is essential.
  • Altıneller Schools students observe the school start and end times.
  • Students who arrive late are admitted to class.
  • Late arrivals beyond the first 10 minutes of the first period count as an absence.
  • Students who miss the first period, or who attend the first period but miss later periods, are counted absent for half a day.
  • Students hand in a parent note stating the reason for the absence to the Education Administrator before the first period of the following day.
  • A medical report must be submitted for absences of three days or more.
  • Students are not allowed to leave school except for health reasons.
  • Students taking part in competitions and artistic, social, and cultural events are considered on administrative leave.

Late Arrival Procedures

  • A student who is late for the first period enters class with a late admission slip.
  • Arrivals before the end of the first period are not recorded as absences.
  • From the second period onward, a late arrival counts as a half-day absence.
  • Parents of students who are repeatedly late are informed, and the school behavior program is applied.

Hall Pass Procedures

  • Students are expected to be in class during lesson time.
  • Leaving class is not permitted except in case of illness or emergency.
  • The subject teacher refers the student to the Education Administrator with a written reason.
  • A student without a hall pass is marked “absent”.

Dress Code Procedures

  • Students wear a school uniform in line with Ministry of National Education regulations.
  • Girls' hair must be tied up or combed back.
  • Boys' hair must be short and neat.
  • Students may not wear accessories such as earrings, bracelets, or rings.
  • School uniforms are available from the school shop (Altıneller Store).
  • Students who do not follow the rules are warned; if it continues, a disciplinary process is started.
  • Students may wear clothing bearing the Altıneller Schools logo at school.
  • On days set by the Altıneller Schools administration, students may come to school in casual clothes.
  • The school tracksuit is worn on physical education days.

Use of Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices

  • Students are advised not to bring mobile phones to school.
  • In emergencies, phones may be used with the permission of a teacher or the administration.
  • Devices used without permission are confiscated for a set period and points are deducted.
  • The school is not responsible for lost or damaged devices.

Home Activities (Homework) Procedures

  • Students must complete assigned activities on time.
  • Students must act in line with the principles of academic integrity.
  • Content must not be copied directly from the internet or books.
  • Students should review daily and avoid cramming before exams.
  • Students should keep up with research, project, and preparation work regularly.
  • Students should read books and take part in cultural and sports activities.

Academic Integrity

Academic integrity requires students to produce work based on their own effort, to respect the intellectual rights of others, and to build relationships based on trust.

Behaviors that violate academic integrity

  • Cheating in exams
  • Unauthorized collaboration
  • Using someone else's work
  • Quoting without citing the source

Use of Information and Communication Technologies

  • Computers must be used carefully and for academic purposes.
  • Device settings may not be changed.
  • School computers may not be used for games or social media.
  • Students must follow the rules of digital citizenship.
  • Using unlicensed software is prohibited.
  • Content may not be used without citing the source.

Enrollment and Withdrawal

Enrollment and Withdrawal Procedures

  • Enrollment is carried out in line with Ministry of National Education guidelines.
  • Tuition fees are announced between January and May.
  • Meal and school bus fees are stated separately.
  • Enrollment may not be renewed for students whose fees have not been paid.

Safety, Visitors, and Communication

Safety, Visitor, and Communication Procedures

All of our campuses are monitored 24/7 by security cameras. There are two security officers at the school entrance, and our school administrators and duty teachers also take an active role when students arrive and leave.

These measures are the core safety practices our school provides. However, real and lasting safety is possible only when there is strong cooperation between school and family. School rules help students develop self-discipline and protect them from possible harm. When parents support these rules and supervision begins at home, both our school and our community become safer.

  • Parents hand their children over at the security gate and do not enter the school building.
  • Once a student has entered the school, they may not leave before dismissal time unless their parent has informed the school in advance.
  • The school uniform is mandatory, especially for high school students, to ensure they can be identified and to prevent suspicious situations. This rule is not flexible.
  • Food may not be sent to school by courier. If food is brought from outside, it must be delivered only by the parent.
  • Students are strictly not allowed to leave school during the lunch break.
  • Phones and smartwatches are placed in classroom lockers or phone boxes before the first period and returned to students at the end of the day.
  • Students must arrive at school on time. The latest arrival time is 09:10. Students arriving after this time are not admitted to school (except in case of illness).
  • Parents are received at school by appointment only.
  • If a student needs to be picked up during school hours, the parent must inform the homeroom teacher and the school counselor one day in advance. Unless informed, the student is not released from school. (It is recommended that students not be taken out of school except for doctor's appointments.)

Visitors

  • Visitors may enter only through the service building.
  • All visitors must wear a visitor badge.
  • Visitors may not walk around the campus without permission.
  • Meetings take place in designated areas.

Communication with Teachers

  • Parents may meet teachers during the teachers' designated hours.
  • Teachers' personal phones are not called except in emergencies.
  • School–parent communication is based on mutual support and understanding.

Meal and Canteen Services

  • Lunch is provided by a contracted catering company.
  • Altıneller Schools students follow the dining hall rules.
  • Altıneller Schools students observe hygiene rules before and after meals.
  • Food is not wasted.
  • Leftover food is delivered to stray animals.

Health Services and Communication Procedures

  • Students with health problems are referred to the Education Administrator.
  • In emergencies, the infirmary process is applied directly.
  • Parents are informed immediately about health matters.
  • Infirmary visits are recorded in the school system.
  • Ambulance procedures are carried out in line with official protocols.
